With the Elk and Bear lot moving to $10 per day (or $75 for a 10-punch pass), we wanted to share some free parking options that are available. There are a number of spots within a short walking distance from the Riverfront Gondola where you can access the mountain from Lower Beaver Creek Mountain Express lift. You also have the option of taking the Avon Skier Shuttle which offers 15-minute service to Beaver Creek Village. Here are the parking options, as found from the Town of Avon Website:
Town Hall parking lot and Lake Street on-street parking: 123 spaces
Please observe short- term 30-minute zone in front of the Municipal Building/Town Hall and reserved Police vehicle spots along the railroad. The Lake Street bus stop is across the street from the Avon Recreation Center. The Riverfront Gondola and Avon Station are accessed via the pedestrian-only Main Street Mall.
Recreation Center east lot: 93 Spaces
The majority of the Recreation Center parking lot is open to parking all day, except for spaces nearest to the Recreation Center north-side entrance which are reserved for Recreation Center use during operational hours 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. The Lake Street bus stop is across the street from the Avon Recreation Center front entrance. The Riverfront Gondola and Avon Station are accessed via the pedestrian-only Main Street Mall.
West Beaver Creek Boulevard on-street parking: 20 Spaces
All spaces are on-street, located between Avon Road and Lake Street. Park here for easy access to businesses in the Sheraton, Avon Center, and 1st Bank. Bus stops are located on both side of the street at the Comfort Inn and at the Sheraton. The Riverfront Gondola and Avon Station are accessed via the pedestrian-only Main Street Mall.
Mikaela Way Public Lot: 36 Spaces
The Mikaela Way Public Lot is located behind the Avon Recreation Center next to the Seasons and Prater Lane Daycare Center. This lot provides quick access to the Lake Street bus stop or a five-minute walk to Avon Station and the Riverfront Express Gondola via the Main Street Mall and Lettuce Shed Lane. Park here to access shops in the Sheraton, The Lodge at Avon, and the Avon Public Library.
East Benchmark Road on-street parking: 21 Spaces
Located between the Annex Building (Copy Copy and the Valley Girl Boutique) and the north side of the Christy Sports building, diagonal on-street parking spaces have a two-hour limit and provide an option to park once, and shop many of the local businesses in the area.
Traer Creek Plaza parking garage: 170 Spaces
Adjacent to Wal-Mart on Yoder Avenue, off from Interstate-70 Exit 168, is the Traer Creek Plaza parking garage. Look for the blue parking sign next to Castle Peak Grill for the entrance. The split-level garage provides heated, covered parking. The joint regional ECO bus stop and Avon Transit bus stop is located just outside with access to 30-minute bus service locally and regionally.
Public Parking signs are installed at all public parking locations, with easy to read blue circles and “P” designation. Look out for Avon’s parking signs, and please note there is no overnight parking at any time in town-spots.
